Memories
Bruce Allen-Michael Lappo
I remember visiting papaw when he had the coal trucks. He took me out there to sit in one and took my picture. I thought that was pretty neat.

Papaw always had a ton of change in his pocket, when I was a little girl he used to tell me reach both of your hands into my pocket and whatever change you can get you can keep . I loved doing that, that was our thing we did. I still to this day have some of the change in a bank. I loved him so much and miss him very much. I know he is at peace. He will forever be in my heart and on my mind. I love you Papaw.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Ancel.  What is constant in my mind and in all my memories is the love my mom and dad had for him.  I never really thought of Aunt Clara and Uncle Ancel as divorced because they always seemed to get along so well and there was always such a strong affection between the two of them whenever they were together.  Uncle Ancel always visited my parents when he was in Kentucky.  They adored Uncle Ancel.  I remember him parking his RV in our yard and staying days and days just visiting.  They always welcomed him as they did any family member.  My dad just really had this strong bond with him and I remember how they talked forever and had a real friendship.

I will always be grateful for the kindness Uncle Ancel has showed all of our family and for the love that flowed so easily between him and our family.

He will be greatly missed.

I'm glad my dad now has his special friend with him in Heaven.

When Bruce & I were married in 1966 my dad cried like a baby. I can still hear him sobbing. It actually surprised me because I never expected that from him. Later at the reception we went outside & he had a new car waiting for us (not paid for)

That was a shock & then I cried like a baby. It was a very happy day. My dad left MI. when I was 10 but he never left us. Larry, myself & even mom were the most important things in his life & he always worried about us like all caring parents do.

When Tony & I returned from Germany mom & dad were waiting as we got off the plane. They had never seen him & he was almost a year old & dad put out his arms & Tony went right to him.
